2025 Ford Maverick
The 2025 Ford Maverick redefines what a compact pickup truck can be. It neatly balances city-friendly size and genuine pickup capability. First-time truck buyers love it, and weekend warriors swear by it. This truck earned a spot on the 10Best Trucks list by proving you don't need a full-size pickup to get things done right.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The new Maverick for 2025 features five trims: the XL, XLT, Lobo, Lariat, and Tremor. The base XL comes with 17-inch steel wheels with sparkle silver-painted covers, while the XLT has 17-inch carbonized gray-painted aluminum wheels for added style.
The Lobo sits lower than the other trims by half an inch in the front and 1.12 inches in the rear, with a reduced roof height of 0.8 inches. It sports 19-inch rally-inspired black wheels and a black roof. The Lariat offers bright aluminum-painted 19-inch wheels and a power-sliding rear window.
The Tremor stands an inch higher for rougher terrain, riding on 17-inch dark aluminum wheels with orange pockets. It comes with all-terrain tires, black chrome lighting, a carbonized gray hood with door decals, and orange tow hooks and grille accents. All trims share LED headlights and a cargo bed of 4 feet 5 inches.
Engine (Power)
The 2025 Maverick offers two powertrain choices. The XL, XLT, and Lariat come standard with a 2.5-liter hybrid engine that produces 191 combined horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque, making it perfect for daily drives and weekend tasks.
If you're looking for more power, the 2.0-liter EcoBoost delivers 238 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. This engine is standard on the Lobo and available as an option for the other trims. Most trims come with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the Lobo is equipped with a seven-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
Performance
Don't underestimate the Maverick's size. Its standard towing capacity reaches 2,000 pounds, perfect for jet skis or small trailers. With the 4K Tow Package, all trims can tow up to 4,000 pounds, which is enough for most boats or campers. Every model maintains a 1,500-pound payload capacity.
The Lobo trim accelerates from zero to 60 mph in just 5.9 seconds. Ford enhanced the suspension, improved steering, and upgraded the brakes for tighter control. Its twin-clutch rear drive unit with torque vectoring sends power to the wheel that needs it most, delivering noticeably sharper cornering.
Interior
On entering the Maverick, one of the first things you'll notice is the massive 13.2-inch touchscreen. The SYNC 4 system integrates seamlessly with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The cabin comfortably seats five people, with Ford packing clever storage throughout. The under-seat storage bins are particularly handy for keeping valuables out of sight.
The Lariat elevates comfort with a premium eight-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system and a power-adjustable driver's seat. The sporty Lobo adds distinctive ActiveX seats with Grabber Blue and Electric Lime stitching. The wireless phone charging station and a Wi-Fi hotspot ensure everyone stays connected, even when your adventures take you off the beaten path.
Safety Features
All Maverick trims are equipped with Ford Co-Pilot360, which includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, a lane-keeping system, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot information system, and automatic high-beams.
The Lariat and Tremor trims add upgraded adaptive cruise control, lane-centering, and speed limit recognition. Some models offer a 360-degree camera system for tight parking situations. With its five-star National Highway Traffic Safety Administration crash test rating, the Maverick also includes a driver's side knee airbag, post-collision braking system, and reverse brake assist.
