Ford Mustang 2 Different Trims

The 2025 Ford Mustang arrives backed by more than five decades of pony car excellence. And if there’s one thing it has mastered in that time, it’s giving drivers choices. Here’s a quick rundown of all nine trims.

EcoBoost Fastback

The heart of every Mustang is the engine, and in the case of the EcoBoost Fastback (and any trim with “EcoBoost” in the name), it’s the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. This feisty four-banger is rated at 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Its zero-to-sixty time is approximately 4.5 seconds. So, let’s just say it’ll move when you ask it to.

EcoBoost Premium Fastback

As the name suggests, this is the more premium take on the standard EcoBoost Fastback. Some added highlights include a heated flat-bottom steering wheel, a nine-speaker audio system in place of a six-speaker unit, pony projection lamps, ActiveX seating material instead of cloth, front seat heaters, and heated outside mirrors.

EcoBoost Convertible

This model delivers everything the Fastback does, just without a roof getting in the way of your hair. Note that Mustang convertibles are among the quietest and most comfortable on the market, thanks to standard heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, and Active Noise Cancellation.

EcoBoost Premium Convertible

Think of the EcoBoost Premium Convertible as the more polished variant of the EcoBoost ragtop. It adds soft-touch door panels, ambient lighting, and a voice-activated navigation system that supports pinch-to-zoom like your phone. Available add-ons include Adaptive Cruise Control, Active Park Assist, and even BlueCruise for hands-free highway driving.

GT Fastback

The GT Fastback is the first trim to drop in a V8 and let you row your own gear. The engine pushes out 480 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque, but with the optional active performance exhaust, those numbers climb to 486 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque.

GT Premium Fastback

The best aspect of this trim is that it allows you to pick and choose your extras. Examples of available upgrades include Brembo brakes, unique chassis tuning, magnetic shocks, Recaro sports seats, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.

GT Premium Convertible

A rumbling V8 and the freedom of an open-air roof. If that sounds like your kind of fun, the GT Premium Convertible is your Mustang.

Dark Horse

A seriously tuned 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with 500 horsepower, a TREMEC-sourced six-speed manual, a drift brake, and a MagneRide suspension are just some of the hardcore gear the Dark Horse features.

Dark Horse Premium

The range-topping Dark Horse Premium brings the same performance punch as the Dark Horse, then layers on premium amenities to match.
